Melissa Reynolds

Travel Designer

Born in Kamloops, BC, Melissa grew up in Australia before moving to Canada at a young age. Melissa has traveled extensively with her family, and has been to Mexico, parts of Europe, and New Zealand. Travel has always been an important part of Melissa's life and because of this innate love for travel, pursuing a career in tourism felt like the natural progression. She worked in the hospitality industry for the Delta Lodge in Kananaskis, Alberta before moving to Vancouver to complete the Tourism Management program at Capilano University. For Melissa, travelling outside of the country made her realize how lucky she is to be living in Canada, resulting in a desire to share Canada and Alaska with the rest of the world.

What is your favorite place in Canada?

'The Gem of the Gulf Islands' Galiano Island. The pebble beaches and lush forests are everything you need for a relaxing island get away. You must explore the island via kayak or paddle board and get up close with all of the diverse marine life.

Tell us about a special discovery that you’ve made in Canada.

The Okanagan is world renowned for their wineries, but the steadily growing cidery scene is exciting to witness. A cold glass of cider on a hot Okanagan summer day, you can’t beat it. If you're up to it, adding a few cideries to your wine tour itinerary is delicious way to cleanse your palate in between wine tastings.

What one thing in Canada should you experience at least once in your life?

Hiking in the mountainous Kananaskis, Alberta! The mountain ranges are never ending resulting in spectacular views as far as the eye can see. Be sure to pack a good lunch, and be up to date on your hiking safety as you are almost guaranteed to run in to a lot of wildlife!
