A UNESCO World Heritage Site, picturesque Lunenburg lies nestled along the scenic shores of southern Nova Scotia one hour from the capital city of Halifax.
Winners of the most beautiful small town and prettiest painted place in Canada, a visit to Lunenburg brings you amidst historic architecture and one of the more unique communities in Canada.
Historically a fishing port, the town colorful homes fronting Lunenburg Harbour is an idyllic destination like nowhere else in Canada. A visit to the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic, you can experience life in a fishing community, magnificent aquariums and their showcase of wharf-side vessels.
One of Lunenburg’s most popular vessels is the Bluenose Schooner who for two decades, reigned over the North Atlantic and brought fame to Captain Angus Walters, his crew and the province of Nova Scotia with numerous wins in international races. Though the original vessel no longer exists, the spirit and history live on in Bluenose II. As Nova Scotia's sailing ambassador, Bluenose II is a proud representative of the province’s maritime heritage.
