Day 1 Arrive Vancouver Upon arrival in Vancouver transfer (not included) to your downtown hotel. The remainder of your day is at leisure to explore Vancouver on your own. Canada’s third-largest metropolitan centre, Vancouver is a busy port city with a thriving multi-cultural ambiance. The city is located in a spectacular setting with the Coast Mountains across Burrard Inlet to the north, and the waters of the Strait of Georgia to the west. Restaurants, shopping, nightlife, a mild climate and a cosmopolitan atmosphere make Vancouver a favourite tourist destination.

Day 2 Vancouver to Whistler (122 km/76 mi) This morning depart Vancouver along the scenic Sea-to-Sky Highway to Whistler. Highlights along the way include the cascading Shannon Falls and the Stawamus Chief Rock where climbers from all over the globe migrate to climb the granite cliffs. Arrive into Whistler by early afternoon.

Day 3 Whistler Exploring with Peak to Peak Gondola Ride This charming alpine resort is nestled between world-renowned Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. Take the Peak 2 Peak Gondola (included) to Whistler Mountain’s sub-alpine and then rise to over 7,000 feet via Whistler’s premier open chairlift. At the top of the Peak Chair, guests will be treated to unbelievable views of glaciers, extinct volcanoes, snowcapped peaks and more. Gondola dates of operation: May - Sep, Summer dates are subject to change due to factors such as weather and snowpack, if gondola is not operating a refund will be issued.

Day 4 Whistler to Vernon (419 km/260 mi) Begin your spectacular drive on the Duffey Lake Road where you will see breathtaking views of Joffre Glacier. Continue on through Lillooet known as the land of the Gold Rush Trail and onto Cache Creek where you stop to visit the historic Hat Creek Ranch (included) From here travel towards the sun & vineyards of Vernon. With over 2,000 hours of sunshine and only 13” of precipitation annually this allows for a wide range of outdoor activities and grape growing for various wines.

Day 5 Vernon Today is yours to experience serenity and well-being at Sparkling Hill Resort, a European-style BC resort spa and world-renowned wellness destination or tour around the Okanagan Valley visiting some of the vineyards that the valley is becoming quite famous for; most are open to the public, and do sell wines on the spot They can arrange shipment home for you too. If you prefer a little more activity, try one of the many golf courses this region has to offer. (breakfast is included today)

Day 6 Vernon to Field - Emerald Lake Lodge (355 km/220 mi) Your destination today is Yoho National Park. The word Yoho is the Cree word expressing awe. This 1313 sq. km (507 sq. miles) national park is filled with gem-coloured glacial lakes and waterfalls, snow-covered peaks and dense forests of western red cedar and western hemlock. Historic railroads, spiral tunnels within mountain sides and steep rock faces where mountain goats roam are just some of the sights to be seen. Other Yoho marvels include a natural rock bridge over the Kicking Horse River, Hoodoos, some of Canada’s highest waterfalls and the Burgess Shale fossil find where over 120 marine animal species dating back as far as 530 million years were discovered. (breakfast is included today)

Day 7 Emerald Lake Lodge to Banff (81 km/50 mi) Enjoy the leisurely drive to Banff. Choose the Bow Valley Parkway, beside the Bow River with an option for you to take a stop at Johnston Canyon and walk along the paved footpath to either the lower or upper waterfalls before continuing to Banff.

Day 8 Banff Exploring (Banff Gondola) A full day to explore Banff and the surrounding area. In town you’ll find lots of excitement including shopping, cafés, nightlife and museums. Check out the Cave and Basin National Historic Site (not included), Banff Gondola (included) where you will see a panoramic view of the Bow Valley, and then take a dip in the hot mineral pools at the Upper Hot Springs (included).

Day 9 Banff to Jasper (292 km) Take the short drive from Banff to Lake Louise. Choose the Bow Valley Parkway, beside the Bow River with an option for you to take a stop at Johnston Canyon and walk along the paved footpath to either the lower or upper waterfalls before continuing to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. From Lake Louise your scenic drive takes you through the spine of the Canadian Rockies, the Icefields Parkway. View a never-ending procession of mammoth mountains, jagged peaks, over 100 glaciers and pristine emerald coloured lakes. Along the way see such sights as the Sarbach Glacier, Peyto Lake, Bow Lake, with the Bow Glacier providing the backdrop, and Crowfoot Glacier before your arrival at the Columbia Icefield for an Ice Explorer ride out onto the glacier (included). Leaving the Athabasca Glacier, your camera should be ready to capture the majesty of the Athabasca Falls prior to your arrival into Jasper.

Day 10 Jasper Exploring Explore this charming mountain village close to many terrific scenic highlights. Take a tram ride up Whistlers Mountain, or visit Maligne Lake, one of the most photographed lakes in the world (admissions not included).

Day 11 Jasper to Toronto (Rail) Spend the day relaxing in the mountain town of Jasper. This evening board VIA Rail’s ‘Canadian’ for the famous train journey across the prairies to Toronto.

Exclusive to Sleeper Touring Class: In the evening attendants transform your quarters into cozy bunks or a bedroom. Visit the Dome Car where you will experience the true essence of travelling by train as a panoramic scene sweeps by. Day 14 Arrive Toronto (Rail) Arrival in Toronto this morning at 9.30am. The rest of the day is yours to explore Canada’s largest and most diverse city. Suggested places to visit include the Eaton Centre, Chinatown, CN Tower, and Old and New City Halls with opportunity for pictures along the way. (Breakfast is included today)

Day 15 Niagara Falls Day Tour Travel by air-conditioned motorcoach for a breathtaking, full-day tour through the orchard-laden Niagara Peninsula to Niagara Falls, one of the great wonders of the world. Tour includes: Hornblower Niagara Falls Cruise or Journey Behind the Falls, a meal overlooking Niagara Falls, free time in Niagara on the Lake and a winery tour including a wine tasting.

Day 16 Toronto Upon check-out of your hotel your Trans Canada Rail and Road trip ends.
