Departure date

You will transfer (own cost) to Vancouver International Airport’s “South Terminal” for a private chartered flight to Sandspit (usually late morning) and a helicopter transfer to Hippa Island Resort. The helicopter ride to the Island will take your breath away. Lush, densely-forested mountains give way to long stretches of ocean. From this vantage point, you may see a pod of dolphins traveling the coast, or a humpback whale breaching the waves. Located just 80km south of Alaska, you’ll feel like you’re at the edge of the world.

If you’re coming to do some serious fishing, this is your destination. One of the first large land masses encountered by fish migrating from the north, vast numbers of chinook (king) salmon surround the island on all sides and stay there all season long. The waters are also rich with bottomfish, prized halibut being no exception! Boats, gear, and bait included. Step off the helipad and step into the lap of luxury. The Lodge at Hippa Island is a slice of heaven. This peaceful place has all the amenities you could wish for – gourmet threecourse meals with complimentary wine; an indoor/outdoor bar; a cozy central fireplace; a sauna and on-site registered massage therapist; and a hot tub bordered by an enormous picture window, from which many a guest has spotted a black bear. Staff is always on hand to make sure every detail is in place, and your trip is everything you want it to be and more.

  • Round-trip transportation with a private chartered aircraft from Vancouver Airport to Sandspit
