Angela Lindstrom

Travel Designer

Angela came to Canada in October 2018 to travel, work, and experience Canadian life, and so far she has not been disappointed! Having several years’ experience in hospitality working in hotels on an operational, sales and event planning basis, she's now extending her experience into travel and tourism to align more with her passions. Angela has lived in four countries on three continents and is a seasoned traveler who looks forward to exploring more of Canada.

What is your favorite place in Canada?

Niagara Falls, and it doesn't matter which season you see it in! One day usually isn't enough to get the most of this stunning natural wonder, so my recommendation is to stretch it out over 2-3 days. Experience the attractions, have dinner at the Skyline Tower overlooking the falls and sample local sweet ice wine from the surrounding wineries. If you're a thrill seeker, you should also try ziplining across the falls!

What one thing in Canada should you experience at least once in your life?

That's easy – the Rocky Mountains! Arguably one of the most iconic and impressive sights on earth, no trip to Canada is complete without them. The mountains stretch from the northernmost part of British Columbia through Alberta and all the way to New Mexico, and you can discover a plethora of hidden gems no matter what time of year you visit. There are also activities for various age groups, fitness levels and interests. Japer, Banff, Lake Louise and Canmore are some of the top places to visit along the way.

What is your best travel memory in Canada?

It's hard to just pick one, especially when I'm experiencing more every day! Currently, I'd have to say my best memory was traveling aboard VIA Rail's “The Canadian” from Toronto to Vancouver. I have always loved traveling by rail and this experience exceeded all expectations! From my cozy private cabin to the delicious meals and spectacular views, this experience should be on everyone’s bucket list. I thoroughly enjoyed switching off from the digital world, too, and having face to face conversations with other, fellow travelers.
