What is your best travel memory in Canada?
My mom was visiting from Germany; we did a road trip through the Canadian Rockies, all the way to Calgary and back to Vancouver. Driving from Lake Louise to Field, we saw a few bears along the highway walking towards the forest. That was my first wild bear encounter ever and an experience I’ll never forget.
What is your favorite place in Canada?
Gabriola Island, located just a 20 minute ferry ride from Vancouver Island - making it my ultimate weekend escape from the city! It’s very laid-back and I always end up feeling like a local when I visit. It has a mild climate, beautiful wilderness and a thriving arts community.
What one thing in Canada should you experience at least once in your life?
Snowboarding Whistler Blackcomb is one of my most memorable experiences and one I think everyone should try - even brand new boarders or skiers. I’ve been snowboarding for many years, but never on hills like these, with wide open terrain and a cool village to end the day in – simply unbeatable!
