Churchill

Located on the edge of the Arctic, the town of Churchill grew from a remote outpost to a bustling seaport with the construction of the Hudson Bay Railroad and Port of Churchill in the late 1920s. Today it plays host to a large number of tourists who congregate here between October and November for an adventure of a life time in search of polar bears.
In the town of Churchill, Polar Bears are everywhere – on murals, signs, souvenirs, and sculptures – and the live version occasionally wanders into town as well! And in the peak of summer July & August, some 50,000 beluga whales migrate into the Hudson Bay and the series of rivers that drain into the Bay in order to feed, give birth and to shed their outer most layer of skin.
Churchill offers travelers the feel of a frontier town with the amenities of an international tourist destination.
