Day 1 Vancouver to Sun Peaks (326 km/203 mi)
Depart Vancouver this morning and drive along the scenic Sea-to-Sky Highway to Whistler, where a stop for a short stroll through the charming alpine village is a must. Continue on the Duffey Lake Road for breathtaking views of Joffre Glacier, then on through Lillooet and onto Cache Creek where you stop to visit the Historic Hat Creek (included). From here it's just a short distance to your overnight accommodation in the resort of Sun Peaks.
Day 2 Sun Peaks to Jasper (444 km/276 mi)
Today, follow the Thompson River through rolling plateaus to the snowy peaks of the Monashee Mountains. View Pyramid Falls and the expansive glaciers of the Albreda Icefields, then pass by Mount Robson, which at 2954 meters is the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. You'll arrive in Jasper by late afternoon.
Day 3 Jasper Exploring
Explore the charming mountain village of Jasper, then visit Maligne Lake, one of the most photographed lakes in the world, for a 90-minute cruise (included).
Day 4 Jasper to Lake Louise (208 km/129 mi)
Depart on a scenic drive along the Icefields Parkway this morning and travel through the spine of the Canadian Rockies. View a never-ending procession of mammoth mountains, jagged peaks, over 100 glaciers and pristine emerald-colored lakes. Make a stop at the Columbia Icefield for an Ice Explorer ride out onto the glacier (included) and stop at the award-winning Glacier Skywalk (included). Don't forget to watch for the Sarbach Glacier, Peyto Lake, Bow Lake, the Bow Glacier and Crowfoot Glacier before your arrival into Lake Louise.
Please note: Mountain lakes in this region will be frozen through to mid-June.
Day 5 Lake Louise to Banff (62 km/38 mi)
Today you'll take the short drive from Lake Louise to Banff. Choose the Bow Valley Parkway beside the Bow River with an option for you to take a stop at Johnston Canyon and walk along the paved footpath to either the lower or upper waterfalls before continuing to Banff. This afternoon, explore Banff and the surrounding area. Take a ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain on the Banff Gondola and enjoy a breathtaking view (gondola ride included).
Day 6 Banff to CMH Heli Hiking Lodge (Coach)
Depart Banff this morning and travel through Banff and Kootenay National Parks to get to the Bugaboos Helipad. After a short flight, meet the Lodge Manager for your room assignment and head to the equipment room to be outfitted with all the necessary gear. You will then have lunch at the lodge, take part in a helicopter safety talk and fly up for an afternoon of hiking or walking in some of the world's most stunning mountains. Return back to the lodge later in the day for apres-hiking appetizers and relaxation.
Day 7-8 CMH Heli Hiking
After an optional stretch class make your way up to the dining room for delicious and hearty breakfast. Then pack your lunch for the day and be divided into groups according to the activity level and adventure you've chosen. Set out by helicopter with your guide to spend the day exploring the immense variety of landscapes. Choose classic hiking, walking or one of the adventure trails such as the Skyladder Via Ferrata and the Bugaboo Spires Glacier Trek. After a memorable day, fly back to the lodge for snacks and beverages; have a massage (not included), take in the sauna or outdoor hot tub before dinnertime.
Day 9 CMH Heli Hiking Lodge to Banff (Coach)
Shortly after breakfast, it's time to say goodbye to the lodge. Once everyone is down at the helipad, you'll retrace the journey through Kootenay and Banff National Parks back to Banff.
Day 10 Banff to Calgary (115 km/72 mi)
Depart Banff today and drive to Calgary where your tour comes to an end.
