Itinerary at a Glance
Day 1 Fairbanks to Coldfoot (10 Passenger Van)
This morning you will depart Fairbanks for your journey to the Arctic Ocean. Traveling with a driver-guide you will visit the Arctic Circle Trading Post in the rural community of Joy. Travel along the rugged Dalton Highway north and experience the mighty Yukon River. Marvel at the majestic beauty of the Northland’s most famous waterway and learn about its storied past. You will cross the Arctic Circle on your way to your destination of Coldfoot.
Day 2 Coldfoot to Prudhoe Bay (10 Passenger Van)
Today you will continue north climbing over the Continental Divide at Atigun Pass. Explore the amazing Arctic Tundra of the Arctic Coastal Plain and feel the veins of ice just beneath the surface.
Day 3 Prudhoe Bay to Fairbanks (10 Passenger Van / Flight)
You have the opportunity to visit the Prudhoe Bay oil fields and touch the frigid Arctic Ocean; perhaps you will even want to dip your toe in! You return to Fairbanks by air this afternoon. The flight between Prudhoe Bay and Fairbanks is typically conducted in 8-passenger or 19-passenger twin-engine aircraft
Day 1 Fairbanks to Prudhoe Bay (10 Passenger Van / Flight)
Fly north from Fairbanks to Prudhoe Bay. Visit the Prudhoe Bay oil fields and begin the journey by dipping your toes in the frigid waters of the Arctic Ocean. The flight between Fairbanks and Prudhoe Bay is typically conducted in 8-passenger or 19-passenger twin-engine aircraft.
Day 2 Prudhoe Bay to Coldfoot (10 Passenger Van)
Tour south in the personalized comfort of our tour vans along the famed Dalton Highway. Explore up close the amazing Arctic tundra of the Arctic Coastal Plain and feel the veins of ice just beneath the surface. Continue across the Arctic Coastal Plain before climbing through the majestic Brooks Mountain Range and over the Continental Divide at Atigun Pass.
Day 3 Coldfoot to Fairbanks (10 Passenger Van)
Visit the historic gold mining community of Wiseman. Cross over the Arctic Circle and receive an official Arctic Circle Adventure Certificate. Experience the mighty Yukon River. Marvel at the majestic beauty of the Northland’s most famous waterway and learn of the river’s storied past. Visit the Arctic Circle Trading Post situated in the rural community of Joy, Alaska. Complete your adventure with a southbound ground tour back to Fairbanks.
Accommodation: Overnight accommodations consist of very basic, clean rooms that are extremely rustic by urban standards. There are not private bathrooms in the rooms. There are private toilet and shower stalls in separate men’s and women’s facilities that are shared among guests.
